Trump Taps Kid Rock to “Open” Strait of Hormuz, Citing “Unmatched Vibe Authority”

Officials say the new plan prioritizes attitude over naval constraints.

— With global oil markets in panic and naval commanders quietly requesting clarity, President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced a bold new strategy to reopen the Strait of Hormuz: appointing Kid Rock as Special Envoy for Maritime Flow Restoration.

The decision, officials say, reflects a shift toward “energy-forward cultural projection,” a doctrine that prioritizes attitude over traditional naval constraints.

“Look, the Strait—it’s closed, people are saying it’s closed, very sad,” Trump said, gesturing broadly over a laminated map he later described as “ocean-themed.” “But Kid Rock? Nobody opens things like him. He’s opened arenas, opened beers, opened minds. He understands opening. That’s what we need.”

According to briefing materials, the plan involves deploying Kid Rock aboard a customized patrol vessel outfitted with amplifiers, pyrotechnics, and what aides described as “strategic freedom music.” The mission: project sufficient American energy into the waterway to “encourage compliance from the geography.”

Joint Chiefs officials, speaking on background, described the strategy as “nontraditional,” noting that waterways historically do not respond to musical pressure.

Trump rejected that assessment.

“You play the right song, that water moves,” he said. “People don’t know this, but water—very emotional. The Strait hears Kid Rock, it opens up. It’s science. A lot of people are saying it.”

Sources confirm Kid Rock has already begun preparations, assembling what he calls a “maritime liberation setlist,” featuring extended guitar solos designed to “loosen tight channels.”

At press time, the Strait remained physically unchanged, though administration officials insisted conditions were “loosening perceptually.”
