Trump Announces Merit-Based January 6 Compensation System
Administration says stronger rioting deserves stronger rewards under new Patriot Restoration Fund.
WASHINGTON, DC — President Donald Trump unveiled the administration’s sweeping new Patriot Restoration and Anti-Weaponization Compensation Fund Tuesday, promising what aides described as “performance-based restitution packages” for January 6 participants who “fought especially hard for freedom.”
Speaking beneath a framed photograph of the Capitol tunnel assaults, Trump explained that not all patriots contributed equally during the historic protest.
“Some people walked around peacefully,” Trump said. “Wonderful tourists. Very peaceful. But others? Others showed incredible passion. Tremendous commitment. We want to reward strength.”
Administration officials later confirmed the fund would use a tiered scoring system measuring what internal documents describe as “riot intensity metrics.”
Draft guidelines obtained by One True Infotainment outlined escalating compensation tiers tied directly to conduct during the Capitol attack.
The proposed “Liberty Courage Bonus” would reportedly award up to $250,000 for participants who assaulted multiple police officers “without surrendering morale under pressure.”
A separate “Constitutional Tunnel Defense Grant” would issue enhanced payments to rioters involved in crushing officers against Capitol entrances during the Lower West Terrace assaults.
Individuals convicted of deploying tasers against police could qualify for Premium Patriot Platinum Status, which includes expanded compensation benefits and priority seating at future rallies.
One proposed reimbursement category labeled “TRUE AMERICAN DIRECT ACTION” reportedly compensates defendants for damaged tactical gear, lost phones, legal expenses, emotional hardship, and “media unfairness.”
Officials also discussed what sources described as “leadership incentives” for demonstrators who organized chants targeting lawmakers during the evacuation of Congress.
“Leadership matters,” one White House aide explained. “Crowd energy doesn’t just happen by itself.”
At one point during the announcement, Trump reportedly asked advisors whether the rioter who smeared feces inside the Capitol should qualify for what he called “a sanitation bravery stipend.”
“It’s disgusting,” Trump admitted. “But you also have to admit, that takes commitment.”
Critics reacted with horror after reports emerged that men convicted in the assaults on Officer Michael Fanone and officers trapped in Capitol tunnel crushes could receive enhanced compensation packages.
Supporters defended the proposal as overdue justice for Americans unfairly punished for “loving their country too aggressively.”
“These patriots suffered tremendously,” said one administration official. “Some lost jobs. Some lost marriages. One man lost his bass boat dealership entirely. Trauma has a cost.”
The White House later clarified that the fund does not reward violence, only “exceptional patriotism expressed kinetically.”
